Cine Film Archive Footage – Trains in the 1970’s – Spalding, ECML and Woodhead
Moving on to the third video for this weekend now, some archive cine film footage by Roy Harrison. This cine film features trains on the East Coast Main Line, at Spalding, York & also the Woodhead route. This gem of a video features various locos & rolling stock, including a 47 pulling a consist of what looks to be preserved & privately own coaches including an LNER teak coach, Pullmans, & other historic coaches. Roy says ‘The Quality is way down on today’s standard but that’s all we had in those days’. In the 1970s video the 47 with the assorted rake of historic coaches was the 1979 Travellers’ Fare Centenary of on-board Railway catering train.
