Dapol GWR/BR Gunpowder Van

Dapol are well known for the huge range of four-wheel wagons they produce, this Gunpowder van is no exception. First released by Dapol back in 1995 with at least 116 different releases in real & also fictitious liveries plus some special commissions too! The real gunpowder van was used for transporting gunpowder to mines, quarries & possibly also fireworks. The van had an 11-ton capacity & had steel sides.

The model actually dates back to 1962 when it was first released by Hornby Dublo, in which the tooling was bought & acquired by Wren. The tooling then passed over into the ownership of Dapol. The model it’s self is a BR standard gunpowder van but it has been used to represent a GW Iron Mink van. 

The model features an incorrect generic chassis which has NEM coupling sockets & small style NEM tension lock couplings. The model also has fine-scale profile wheels.
