Dapol KQA/KTA Pocket Container Wagon
Dapol KQA/KTA Pocket Container Wagon
Dapol are well known for their large range of wagon models. In 2010 Dapol released the KQA/KTA pocket container wagon into their range. A welcome addition to many modern image modellers, this model allows to bring more variety to your container wagon fleet. With the increase in container sizes in the 1990’s problems started to arise due to the UK restrictive loading gauge. One solution to this problem was the KQA/KTA container wagon which was designed & built by Tiphook Rail. This wagon has low lattice platform set between the bogies with slab steel sides which creates a pocket for the container to sit in. The lowered height allows for taller containers to travel on the UK network. These wagons were built in Finland & entered service around 1997.
The model features a wealth of details, NEM pockets & removable small NEM tension lock couplings, fine scale profile wheels as well as etched steel parts. This model is offered with & without the 40ft hi cube containers in various logistic container companies. A superb running wagon in which we have here on our own personal model fleet here at Scalemodelscenery.co.uk.
