Dapol Network Rail IOA Open Wagon
Dapol Network Rail IOA Open Wagon
Released on to the market by Dapol back around 2010, this OO scale model is an essential modern image wagon for anyone modelling today’s railway. This wagon is another one from Network Rail’ extensive wagon fleet, built in Romania & allocated tops code IOA. Network Rail use this wagons for transporting ballast to work sites & waste & old spent ballast away from work sites. In line with aquatic names for departmental wagons, the IOA has the name ‘Mussel’ allocated to it. The IOA entered service with Network Rail in 2009. The wagons have a maximum capacity of 102 tonnes.
The model features a fine detailed & moulded body, NEM coupling pocket sockets with small type NEM tension lock couplings. The bogies are well detailed though has slightly to thick bogie side frames. The wheels are of the fine-scale profile type. The body has fine printed details. In long term testing on my layout, i’ve found these wagons to be excellent runners.
Key Features:
- Fine-scale wheels
- Fine detailed parts
- Fine printed decoration
- Small NEM tension lock couplings
- NEM coupling box
- Era 2009 onwards
- Weathered versions available
- Liveries: Network Rail plus weathered versions
- Bogie side frames are slighty too thick.
