Dapol ZBV Grampus Dropside
Dapol Grampus ZBV Dropside Wagon
Dapol are well known for the huge range of four-wheel wagons they produce, this Grampus open wagon is no exception. First released by Dapol back in 2008 with at least 43 releases todate of this model. The Grampus was built for BR 1950’s onwards with nearly 4,800 were built. The Grampus was used to move ballast & spoil & was part of BR’s engineers wagon fleet. Over the years there have been various design alterations. The wagons had removable end planks & drop down sides.
The model has NEM coupling pockets & removeable small style tension lock couplings that self center. The buffers are made of steel, the wheels being fine scale profile type. The model has detailed under chassis, with the first releases on the chassis having the original greese tpye axlebox covers. In 2009 Dapol introduced a chassis with roller bearing type axle boxes. The newer tooling has shorter slimmer buffers, a vacuum cylinder & steel bar across the chassis to the brake handles. The wagon also includes a removable mineral load too.
Various liveries including weathered finish are available.
