Hidden Railway Find of HS2 – Birmingham Curzon Street
For the first video this week, we join Nodrog at Birmingham Curzon Street for a look at some railway archaeology that’s around 200 years old that has just been uncovered on one of the construction sites on HS2. Nodrog, takes a tour around this site where we’ll see the remains of the former railway round house dating back to the times of one of the early UK mainlines. This roundhouse was built to a design by the 19th century engineer Robert Stephenson, the roundhouse was operational on 12 November 1837 which we think is likely to predate the current titleholder of ‘world’s oldest’ in Derby by almost two years!!
