
Hornby Maintenance Crane – OO Scale

A basic but full of great play value for youngsters & modellers is this offering by Hornby. Modelled on Cowans-Sheldon hand operated 6.5 ton rail crane. The chassis features heavy diecast metal with the rest of the crane being plastic, the lifting gear being a chain & metal hook. There is two small handles for operating the jib & lifting gear. The crane also will rotate through 360 arc.
Originally released back in 1962 there has been at least 5 versions produced, brown, red & yellow liveries have featured onn this model.

Summary The model is old tooling now but can be picked up cheaply at Toy Fairs / Swap Meets / online, Ebay, Model Shops etc. Great play value for young & old alike, features removable stabilisers, good decoration but no NEM couplings socket.
