The Rudd wagon is a 21 ton ballast & sleeper wagon which were converted from HTV 21 ton coal hopper wagons which dated back to the 1950’s. The chassis being only the original bit, with the rebuilt wagon featuring a three drop-down door side panels open box. 800 of these wagons were converted into Rudd’s by Marcroft & C.C.Crump during the 1990’s.
The wagon features NEM coupling boxes with removable small style tension lock couplings, fine scale wheels, various separate under chassis parts like brake gear, steps etc. The buffers are metal with the body having excellent details including fine printed lettering.
