How To Cut Nylon For Fencing Mesh Quickly & Easily

This is a quick blog based on a technique that came to me in a flash of inspiration yesterday while washing the pots! It’s probably an amalgamation of all the various ideas you guys emailed in over the weekend after I previewed the chainlink fencing in Saturday’s newsletter…

Anyway, here’s what I came up with last night and it seems to work a treat for cutting the nylon mesh supplied with the LX007 Chainlink Security Fencing kits in all scale!

Step 1: Roll out the length of mesh you require, and stick a matching length of parcel tape or masking tape to it.

Step 2: Use a fine tipped permanent pen or Biro and ruler to mark out the cut lines.

Step 3: Cut along the marked lines using a very sharp craft knife (I found it easier to cut along the lines freehand rather than with the ruler).

Step 4: Lift out the tape & mesh

Step 5: Carefully peel away the tape leaving you with a perfectly sized length of mesh for your fencing!
