Lancashire and Yorkshire School of Signalling
For our fourth video this weekend, we head to the National Railway Museum at York in North Yorkshire. The museum is always well worth a visit & one of the exhibits on show there is a from the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway signalling school. The layout was built to train up employees to become railway signalmen/women. The video shows the layout operating, it’s history & how the signalling works. Something that we as modellers can create in one form or another with signalling on our own layouts. The layout is operated one day a month, so please check with the NRM beforehand if wanting to see this exhibit working.
