Modelling Tip Of The Day – 47
This Modelling Tip Of The Day is an ongoing series, in which we’ll be posting a modelling tip that may be of use to the newbie right up to the seasoned modeller. Today’s tip is:
Locomotive Model Boxes
Once you’ve added super detailed extra parts to a locomotive, you may find it’ll sometimes not fit back properly in its original box. To save accidental damage to a model that has the extra detail parts fitted alter or modify the box. This can be done by simply cutting a section out of the polystyrene tray or plastic tray (that the loco comes in) to allow room for the extra detailed parts.
If this is not possible, then look at other suitable boxes that come with foam inserts. The foam insert can be easily cut to shape to suit the loco & allow clearance for the extra detailed fitted parts.
