Modelling Tip Of The Day – 51

This Modelling Tip Of The Day is an ongoing series, in which we’ll be posting a modelling tip that may be of use to the newbie right up to the seasoned modeller. Today’s tip is:

Flexible Track

Use Flexible track to create more realistic trackwork. Flexible track is sold in yard lengths & is easily cut to length to suit using track cutting tools. Ideal for long track runs & creating realistic curves which have a gentle transition leading into & out of the curves. Using flexible track saves you money over the traditional settrack type track work. As well Hornby other makes to consider are Peco, Tillig, C & L Finescale, Exactoscale, SMP amongst others.

Don’t forget to but your rail joiners at the same time & worth keeping a few spare packs of rail joiners in your parts/tool box.

Interesting, I have never used flexible track but can see its advantages.

Well worth using as it can save a fair bit of money over using settrack.
