Printing download kits/papers
I am not sure if this has been mentioned before, but having just read Tip 98 about printing downloads, I thought I would mention my method. Whenever I have to print a download, I print onto A4 self-adhesive labels and find this ideal for when printing paving and wall papers. As long as you are careful when sticking the label to the card, the result can be quite effective.
Great tip 🙂 If you have any photos showing the above method we’d love to see them. Thank you for sharing you tip 🙂
I do the same and it works very well. Sometimes, where there are a lot of windows and doors to cut before attaching a wall paper to base card, then I revert to using glue which puts less stress on the cutouts.
I don’t know if anyone else has tried it, but I have had (by my standards!) some good results using Daler/Rowney self-adhesive mounting board. It costs £6.25 for an A1 sheet from my local art supplies shop and is repositionable with care. Put your cover sheet on and use a wallpaper seam roller to ensure good adhesion. I have found that it is easy to leave unglued patches when using glue sticks and other glues, but this board avoids that.
Good tip. Thank you for sharing 🙂
an excellent idea which I have just tried on a small shed with very successful results, I am planning to have a go at a bigger project next.
You are most welcome 🙂
CAUTION – I used to use this method and was perfectly happy with the results. BUT after a few years I noticed that the glue dried out and the paper was then not attached to the layer below.
