In this Scale Model Scenery kit build guide, we take a look at another recent new released kit from our range, this time it’s the turn of the LX284-OO Kit. The LX284-OO Office Desks & Chairs kit makes up six desks complete with desk draw units & twelve chairs. The parts are pre-laser cut. The kit is ideal for detailing your layout buildings office interiors etc. It’s a great little kit for an afternoon or evening model kit building session.

Without further ado lets us now take a look at the kit, it’s build & painting.

Next cut & remove two of the thicker core block pieces from the second parts sheet. Lightly sand flush any pips on the part sides.

Now glue & fix the front panel on to the front of the core piece. Make sure that it sits flush with the side panel as indicated by the orange X in the photo right.

Now glue & fix the other side panel part D on to the thick core piece. As shown in the photo right. Repeat the process to make a second desk draw unit.

Now apply a thin bead of glue to the top of the desk draw unit a fix into place on to the table as shown in the photo right.

Repeat the process with the other table leg (part E) & the other desk draw unit, & glue a fix them into place on the table as shown in the two photos right.

Cut & remove the desk privacy front board part F from the parts sheet. Lighty sand flush any pips from the part edges.

Then glue & fix into place onto the desk as shown in the second photo right.

The desk assembly is now completed.

The Chairs

From the parts sheet, cut & remove parts G, H, I & J, as indicated in the photo right.

Glue & fit part G the chair shaft into the central hole on part H the legs. Allow time for the glue to set.

Glue & fit part I the chair seat on to part G the central shaft. Allow time for the glue to set.

Glue & fit part J the chair seat backrest on to the part I the chair seat. Allow time for the glue to set.

This concludes the assembly of the chairs.

You can add variety to some of the desks by only fitting one desk draw unit. In the photo right can be seen to desks, one with two draw units & the other with just one.

To paint the desks & chairs, use acrylic paints. Here we’ve used Noch Paint pens which give a nice thin even coat of paint. Build up the layers of paint to achieve your desired requirements.

This concludes this build & paint article.

Happy modelling
