SHUNTING, LOWER MARSHALLING YARD AT TRENHOLME JUNCTION
This film shows the assembly of a tanker train at the Lower Marshalling Yard at Trenholme Junction.
Two locomotives are involved in the makeup of the train, an ex GWR Prairie Tank and an 08 Diesel Shunter.
After pulling the mixed rakes of wagons from the sidings, both of the headshunt roads are used allowing alternative detachment of the wagons to form the new train.
Mainly viewed from the station platform, an ideal position for fascinated schoolboys to watch from.
