The Lost Skye Marble Railway
For our bonus video this week, we head north & join ‘Rediscovering Britains Lost Railways’ on the famous Scottish island ‘Isle Of Skye’. The Isle of Skye at one time had a small industrial steam railway, which transported Skye Marble which was quarried in the hills to the island’s capital, Broadford, for onward transportation by ship around the world. The quarry & the line is now but a memory, but this video takes a look at the history & what’s left of the route today.
It’s one railway line that would make for a fascinating layout.
