The Wood Yard

Awkward spaces.

This is the result of me developing one of those awkward areas on my layout. Sometimes I think it’s easier to to deal with these “left over” spaces rather than risk having everything in blocks.

I also believe that each area, building, scene needs to tell a story. Preferably one that doesn’t need a full explination to the viewer.

The following pictures story is one of the old station area being repurposed, the old goods yard to the near side of the new flyover is now a timber and builders yard, complete with storage that uses the old platform and runs under the flyover.

The other side of the road is where my Unigate milk float yard is, it uses one of the old station buildings and has been extended with a cold store and garage bays. The offices are based in the old shop at the road entrance.
