Modelling Tip Of The Day – 77

This Modelling Tip Of The Day is an ongoing series, in which we’ll be posting a modelling tip that may be of use to the newbie right up to the seasoned modeller. Today’s tip is:

Plug-In Type Connectors

For running wires across a removable baseboard joint use a chocbloc type connector. For speedy unpluging, use the plug type chocbloc connector. This has male pins on one side whilst the other side has female slots. So a simple case of pushing the chocbloc connector with the pins into the female connector. To unplug, simply pull the male connectors out thus allowing the baseboards to be removed.

All that is needed is a pair of wire strippers & a screwdriver. Strip the wire ends to be inserted into the ends of the chocbloc connector with the screws. Unscrew the screw, insert the wire, re-tighten the screw. Job done!

There are other types of wire connectors out on the market, browse the internet for electrical & electronic parts for retailers.
